Ten Minute Tuesday: Paint with Spices

My favorite thing about this time of year is the smell of baking treats, vanilla and cinnamon, cloves and ginger. Often I will fill a pot on the stove with oranges, vanilla, cinnamon and cloves and let it simmer away. It makes the house smell like Christmas and all warm and cozy. For our ten minute project today, I want you to gather your favorite spices from your cupboard or you can use the same ones I did. Gather some paint brushes and some water, and good paper to paint on.
I chose my favorite comforting scents: vanilla, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and ginger (and it is driving my daughter nuts because it smells like cookies. hehehe) Why are we doing this? Certain smells trigger memories, feelings emotions in us that bring us warmth and joy or can plunge us into sadness. These particular smells make me happy and relaxed.
I did the painting right in my mixed media journal with plans to use it for a journal page once everything dries. I encourage you to do. (Hint:That’s what is happening on Tuesday next week!)

So lets get started with Painting with Spices (and vanilla)!

Just follow the picture tutorial below.
