"What if you had a creative map to guide you toward your goals — one that could take that idea you’ve been holding onto (the one you can’t stop thinking about) and actually help you see it through to completion? Whether you’re starting a passion project, launching a business, or shifting gears in life, knowing where to begin — and how to keep going — can make all the difference.
When I developed the CREATE Framework, my goal was to give myself and my clients a clear, adaptable process that uses each person’s unique creativity. Born from lived experience (both mine and my clients’), deep reflection, and real results, CREATE is a flexible method designed to meet you exactly where you are — and then help you get to where you want to go. It’s built to take your vision (whether it’s artistic, personal, or professional) and give it the structure it needs to become reality — without losing the magic that inspired it in the first place. This is an easy to remember six step acronym.
CREATE at a Glance
- C – Clarify
Get crystal clear on what you’re trying to accomplish and why it matters to you.
Example: Instead of “I want to be more creative,” it becomes “I want to create a daily practice/habit of being creative to bring more joy and awe into my daily life.” - R – Reflect
Step back to see the whole picture and explore the “why” behind your goal. Check in with your own motivation and potential obstructions in the way.
Example: “I miss personal creativity; professional creativity is different and does not provide the same joy. My obstacle in the way is my tutoring hours sometimes shift at the last minute and overlap with my “creative” time. - E – Envision
Imagine what success looks like. This is the dreaming stage — the space where you picture your goal as fully alive and achieved. Imagine giant white space and fill it with all the images you see for yourself once the goal is complete.
Example: My mornings are calm and start with joy. I burst with creative energy into my days. - A – Align
Match your actions, environment, and mindset to your goal. This is where we connect your imagination with practicality.
Example: On Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays, I take a 30 minute walk in nature and take pictures of all the little things that make me smile, or give me joy. On Tuesday and Thursday, I sit in the evening while my husband practices his guitar, and sketch. - T – Take Action
The step most people jump to first — but here, it’s informed by all the groundwork you’ve laid. Example: My first week I will start with MWF and walk for 15 minutes and take 3 pictures of things that make me smile. - E – Evaluate
Check in, adjust, and fine-tune. This keeps you moving forward without losing momentum or burning out. Example: I feel that expanding my time to a 30 minute walk and letting go of a specific number of pictures each time. After a month, I will check in with myself to see if I want to make changes.
The beauty of CREATE is its flexibility. I’ve used it to:
- Build and launch workshops
- Develop long-term creative projects- like a novel and my creativity book project
- Help clients achieve deeply personal goals like putting together a large gala to help nonprofits or starting a micro bakery business.
It’s not about “being more creative” in the artsy sense (though it works for that, too) — it’s about tapping into the creative process as a problem-solving tool to navigate many challenges or ambitions. The process allows us to be innovative in our problem solving and goal setting.
Diane’s CREATE Success Story
Diane wanted to start a home micro bakery business. She had talked about it for years, but with her jobs in transition — and her desire to stop juggling multiple roles — we began mapping out how to make it happen.
She started with the end in mind: a baking business that could replace the income from both of her jobs so she could focus on what she loved most. Baking wasn’t just work for Diane — it was her creative outlet, her joy.
Her obstacles were real: a small kitchen, a period of overlap where she’d be working two jobs and running the bakery, and the logistics of scaling. But her vision was clear — a converted horse trailer for a mobile bakery, “popping up” at events, and eventually renting space in a larger commercial kitchen.
We broke the vision into steps: Diane developed a core menu of staple baked goods, created a 12-month rotating menu of specialty items, and mapped out her permitting and event vendor applications. She began learning from other micro bakeries, adapting ideas, and making small but steady adjustments every month.
In just five months, Diane had fully launched her micro bakery, was selling at events, and was building a loyal local following. Her dream wasn’t just on paper anymore — it was happening, one intentional step at a time.
Diane’s success didn’t come from a single “aha” moment — it came from a clear vision, a flexible plan, and the willingness to keep moving forward, even in small increments. That’s exactly what CREATE is designed to do: turn an idea into an actionable, evolving plan that works in the real world.
WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS
Your goals don’t have to feel like a tangled ball of “shoulds” and “somedays.” When you give your inspiration both structure and breathing room, you give yourself the best chance to bring it to life.
CREATE isn’t about forcing your dreams into a rigid box — it’s about giving them a framework that supports growth, pivots, and even surprising new directions.
The framework itself is powerful, but here’s the truth: transformation happens in the doing. Transformation won’t happen if we stand still or remain stuck. Even if the action is small, we move forward.
That’s why in my workshops and coaching, we don’t just talk about CREATE — we put it to work on your actual goals. By the end, you’ll have a clear, personalized roadmap and the energy to make it happen.
Because your ideas? They’re worth creating.
The only question is —
what will you make next?
Ready to see CREATE in action, join me for my upcoming Creative Alchemy: Turning Your Vision Into Action workshop on August 16th.
